Web Fresh Leads Client Stories

Our first two clients were a teacher and performer of African drumming, Baba Abubakr Kouyate, and a retail shop, Temples Gate.

Abubakr Kouyate, West African Master Drummer

Baba Abubakr Kouyate grew up in New York City but spent several years in West Africa studying drumming. He has been performing and teaching for over 40 years. Since moving to Houston he has become well known in the drumming community. He plays at festivals, church programs, and museums. But over the years many of his public school teaching jobs were lost to budget cutbacks. His income was falling.

Temples Gate, a Retail Shop

Temples Gate shop owner Joel Miles is an experienced retail store manager with a couple of decades of experience. When he realized his dream of opening his own shop in 2000, the economy was booming. The shop flourished.

Easily weathering the 2002 recession, Joel moved to a larger shop and was moderately successful in the new location.

Then his web designer went out of business, and lost the Temples Gate web address, templesgate.com. Eventually Joel got a new web page on line at templesgate.net. But he lost Google search ranking, because he lost all the links and bookmarks other sites had made to his original web site.

Just as having a robust Web presence was becoming essential to getting new customers, Temples Gate had to start over from the beginning to rebuild its online presence. So Joel turned to us.
